More SINK in INK!
Shout out to the latest ComixTribe superfan who commissioned an awesome tattoo!
A few months back, I did a post here on Substack about how awesome it was that multiple ComixTribe fans over the years have put characters and imagery inspired by our books on their bodies permanently in the form of tattoos.
Well, we’ve got another to shout out… and this one is especially cool. A frequent backer and ComixTribe fan, George B. recently reached out to SINK creators John Lees & Alex Cormack with an interesting request.
George commissioned John to write a one-panel image featuring SINK’s fan favorite character Mr. Dig, the fox-mask wearing vigilante, and then commissioned Alex to draw that image for him.
Here’s what John wrote for George:
"Mr. Dig is walking wearily, his shoulders slumped, but staring out at us with angry, defiant eyes. He's dragging his shovel behind him, the tip of its blade scraping along the floor. The shovel is covered of blood, leaving a streak of blood running in a line behind him.”
Alex did his magic, and sent a digital image over to George, who brought that image to tattoo artist Ian Thompson at Port Orange Tattoo. (Check out Ian’s stuff on IG.) And here’s the final result:
Pretty dope, right?
I don’t think any of us saw this coming when John and Alex began working on SINK several years ago…
But as we’re getting ready to drop the next action-packed appearance of Mr. Dig in SINK: Just Desserts, launching NEXT WEEK on Kickstarter, it’s not all that surprising that this character caught on… he’s just that cool!
We’d like to ask all ComixTribe fans to take a few seconds and hit the NOTIFY ME button on our SINK: Just Desserts pre-launch page, so that long-term fans like George don’t miss out on early backer incentives.

And if you haven’t read any SINK yet, and are wondering what makes this character so great that multiple fans have committed him to ink on their bodies, we’ll have some amazing Mr. Dig / SINK catch-up tiers so you can see why fans love him so much.
Of course, this makes us wonder whether or not more of our fans would be into a “commissioned tattoo” design in the future?
