A Quick Look Back at All the Awesome Covers to the Comics We Published in 2023

One of the best parts of being a comic book publisher is working with outstanding artists. In 2023, we published some great comics from longtime ComixTribe staples including Alex Cormack, Joe Mulvey and Matt Zolman, as well as a number of incredible cover artists. I thought it would be fun to share a quick look at all of the amazing covers that we released in 2023.

A Fistful of Pain (Original Graphic Novel)

From the award-winning minds of writer Ryan K Lindsay (Eternal, Speed Republic) and acclaimed illustrator Louie Joyce (Past the Last Mountain), A Fistful of Pain is a stunning original graphic novella about dragons, sibling rivalry, and kung-fu vengeance.

This Kickstarter-funded original graphic novella project funded at the end of 2022 and was delivered to our backers in early 2023, boasting 4 awesome covers and cool Process Book.

This book was a little different than anything else we’ve published at ComixTribe, but the visionary team of Lindsay and Joyce made it a no-brainer, and we were thrilled that the ComixTribe audience responded to this, our most backed comics project to date!

Happy Hill #5 (Comic Book)

Happy Hill is a 5-issue supernatural vacation thriller and horror action dramedy comic book series about the deadly consequences of the pursuit of happiness, written by Bram Stoker-Award Nominated writer Rich Douek (Sea of Sorrows, Road of Bones, Wailing Blade) and co-written & drawn by artist Joe Mulvey (Scam, Wailing Blade).

We released the thrilling final issue of Book One in early 2023, and with four awesome covers, all by creator and artist Joe Mulvey on Kickstarter.

SINK #11: CUTTHROAT (Comic Book)

SINK: CUTTHROAT Deluxe Edition (SINK #11) marked the long awaited return of the critically acclaimed pulp crime horror saga SINK from John Lees, Alex Cormack and Shaun Lee, and the first thrilling installment of an all-new terrifying arc telling The Gorbals Vampire Saga! 

This tale, featuring a new character Chrissie Woods, inspired by John’s own dear ol’ Gran, featured x awesome covers:

It was a thrill to get more SINK out into the world in 2023… and there’s a whole lot more coming in 2024.

SINK:MONSTERS (#12-13) will be our FIRST LAUNCH in the new year, so we’re encouraging anyone interested in the series to get on our PRE-LAUNCH NOTIFICATION LIST here.

EPIC #4 (Comic Book)

EPIC is the story of an awkward teen superhero whose powers turn off whenever he gets turned on! After a long hiatus, this action-packed comic from yours truly Tyler James and artist Matt Zolman returned to Kickstarter picking right up where we left off, a battle with ROID RAGE!

And one of the coolest things about EPIC coming back is that we actually sold out of all earlier issues of EPIC, which made it a no-brainer to greenlight a new EPIC trade collection that collected all EPIC comics published to date! And a new trade demanded a new cover…

The return of EPIC was one of the most pleasant of surprises for me in 2023, as it wasn’t on our original publishing slate heading into the year. But thanks mostly to the hard work of Matt Zolman and the humbling support of ComixTribe fans, bringing EPIC back was definitely a highlight of the year.

So, there you have it! A quick recap of many great covers from the comics we put out in 2023! We set the bar pretty high this year… but look out 2024, because we have a whole lot more planned!
